Playing time: 65'
Recording date: May 1996
This recording contains a good selection of music showing the
transition between purely vocal models for instrumental composition at
the beginning of the century to freely instrumental ideas toward the
end. The liner notes are also nicely informative in this regard. The
restriction of playing only 3-voice works on viols is both a positive
and negative for the release.
