Comments:
The first CD was probably intended to be released as
Fontalis (Auvidis) ES 9905 "Cancioner
de Montecassino", but never appeared.
Pierre-F. Roberge
The Cancionero de Montecassino is an almost unique document
representing the musical side of Aragonese rule in Naples. It
contains 64 sacred and 77 secular works, all in no apparent order,
and with an overall heterogeny of style and language. The music
represents approximately five decades in the mid-1400s, apparently
copied up to the 1480s.
Unattributed items are anonymous.
