Comments: Great festive music from a great composer rediscovered by Reinhard Goebel. These concertos are outstanding pieces of music, to be considered at the same level as Bach's and Handel's concerti. A selection (Seibel 234, 213, 235, 233, 208, 240 and 231) has been reissued as "Concerti Grandi" (Archiv 437 849-2 A H (1 CD)), and then as a part of the "Bach & seine Zeit" mid-price box (Archiv 459 361-2 A X10 (10 CDs)). The complete recording was recently reissued in the "Gramophone Awards Collection" (DG Gramophone Awards Collection 474 892-2 (2 CDs)).
