Cornysh was one of the major composers of the Eton Choirbook, a major source of English music for the period and exhibits many stylistic features, of the generation before Taverner. However, in some of the pieces presented here, Cornysh has taken steps to simplify the extremely florid style used in e.g. his Magnificat.
