This program is intended to illustrate music of the reign of King Matthias (1458-1490) in Hungary. No actual music survives, but the present composers have tangible historical associations to the court in Buda. Barbireau & Pietrobono visited there, and Johannes de Stokem had apparently his primary appointment there. Tinctoris did not visit Hungary, but references show contact with it, such as a dedication to Johannes de Stokem.
