All of the psalm texts were taken from the translation of
Clément Marot, in other words the Huguenot Psalter. This
includes the Cantique de Siméon which is the only New
Testament text in Marot's publication. Par le désert de
mes peines is one of Goudimel's Cantiques Spirituels, with a text
by Antoine de la Roche Chandieu. The psalms settings are of varying
musical complexity.
