This recording presents the contents of the Ambrosian Songbook preserved in Milan. Unfortunately, the sonorities are such that one can sometimes imagine to hear a lieder singer with piano.
Although it is not noted as such, this is a reissue of a CD on Ars Nova Label CDAN 171 issued in 1988, previously issued on 3 LPs in 1979.
