For those readers unfamiliar with the Kronos Quartet, they are very well-known in modern & avant-garde music circles. They also have a certain predilection for "New Age"-type music, and their entry into Early Music will be seen as an event by some. The present recital includes some other performers on some tracks, and is unfortunately given with no notes on the music other than specifying what it is, but is primarily string performance. The famous EM pieces are handled with flair, but easily recognizable, and the modern and/or world music pieces are generally in a similar idiom.
